1. How would you rate your agency's staff in terms of their understanding of ASFA requirements? We are particularly interested in the level of understanding of managers, supervisors and workers. Please rate their understanding on a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being 'poor' and 5 being 'comprehensive'.

We drafted a new Case Plan review form that we are planning to test, and are in the process of developing a new Quality Assurance Monitoring tool.

We have all the data in the system but are still working on teaching staff how to pull and use the data.

b. Are there any significant lessons you learned from the CFSR process that you suggest we include in our curriculum? If so, please describe.

We have been working on several main initiatives. One is aimed at working more closely with foster parents to help them feel more a part of the system. Another initiative is around family centered practice, which will include case planning. Training of staff is another major initiative we are working on.


10. Is there anything else that you want to tell us regarding the best way to support staff as they implement the requirements of ASFA?

You need a clear understanding of the requirements, training on the case planning piece, and funding for resources.
